NHR at Almedalen Week in Visby

During week 26, the annual Almedalen Week was held in Visby. During Almedalen Week, decision-makers from politics, business, and the non-profit sector gather to discuss societal issues. Both Nordion Energi and Gasgrid participated with representatives on site for meetings, roundtable discussions, and seminars, organized both independently and together with others.

Nordion Energi arranged two public seminars during the week. One of them focused on the future hydrogen infrastructure in northern Sweden and Finland. “Hydrogen – an opportunity for Sweden to keep up with the transition” was held at Arena Energi on June 26 at 14:10. For those who wish to watch the seminar, a link is available here.

At Nordion Energi’s second seminar, “How can electricity, hydrogen, and biogas together increase the security of supply in the energy and transport systems,” the role of hydrogen infrastructure in Sweden’s future energy system was also discussed. A link to the seminar is available here.

Nordic Hydrogen Route is an initiative between Gasgrid and Nordion Energi to accelerate the creation of a hydrogen economy by building up a cross-border hydrogen infrastructure in Bothnian Bay region and an open hydrogen market by 2030. The aim of Nordic Hydrogen Route is to drive decarbonization, support regional green industrialization, economic development, and European energy independence. The companies seek to develop a network of pipelines that would effectively transport and store energy from producers to consumers to ensure they have access to an open, reliable, and safe hydrogen market. and safe hydrogen market. The project received EU PCI status on 8 April 2024 and is currently in the feasibility study phase. Find out more: www.nordichydrogenroute.com
